Drug Pusher in Dauis Caught with Over P20K Worth of Shabu in Buy Bust Operation

A drug pusher from the town of Dauis, Bohol was arrested in a buy bust operation conducted by the Tagbilaran City Drug Enforcement Unit on Tuesday.

The suspect, identified as Evencio Tilar Jr., is single and a native of Purok 5 of Barangay Catarman in Dauis.

The operation took place in Purok 3 of Barangay San Isidro and was led by Police Staff Sergeant John Butch Epila. The buy bust operation was conducted under the supervision of PLt Col. Homobuno Sayun and was witnessed by the barangay captain and barangay kagawad, a DOJ representative, and members of the media.

During the operation, a police poseur buyer purchased a package of shabu for Php 500.00. When Tilar handed over the package, he was quickly arrested and another eight packages were found in his possession. The packages weighed up to three grams and had a total value of Php20,400 based on the Standard Drug Price.

The Tagbilaran City Drug Enforcement Unit is now preparing to file charges against Tilar for illegal possession of prohibited drugs.

This is the second drug bust operation conducted in Dauis in the past week. On June 13, 2023, police arrested another drug pusher in Barangay Totolan.

The Tagbilaran City Drug Enforcement Unit is committed to reducing the supply of illegal drugs in the city. They urge anyone with information about drug activity to contact them.
