P13.7M worth of shabuseized in Panglao buybust

A buybust operation in Panglao, Bohol on June 23, 2023 led to the seizure of
P13.7 million worth of suspected shabu.
The suspect, identified as Rowel Borja, was arrested by the Panglao
Municipal Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit.
About 2,025 grams of what is believed to be shabu was seized from his
possession, with a standard drug price of P13,770, 000.00.
Panglao Mayor Boy Arcay witnessed the success of the operation and
congratulated the police.
He said that the seizure of the illegal drugs is a major blow to the drug trade in
the area.
“This is a big victory for our law enforcement agencies,” said Mayor Arcay.
“We will continue to work hard to rid our community of illegal drugs.”
The suspect is currently detained at the Panglao Municipal Police Station.
He will be facing charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs
Act of 2002.
Meanwhile, about two days ago, a promodizer was arrested in Panglao for
illegal drugs.
Police reports say a promoter from Dauis was arrested in a buy bust operation
in Panglao early morning on June 21, 2023.
Police Major Andie Corpus, chief of police and team leader of Panglao
Municipal Police Station Drug Enforcement, identified the suspect as Ralde
Tubac Loquias, 32 years old, married, promoter of Du Ek Sam and a resident
of barangay Songculan, Dauis.
The suspect was caught in a buy bust operation conducted by the Panglao
MPS Drug Enforcement Unit around 12:12 in the early morning, June 21 in
Purok 5, Poblacion, Panglao, Bohol.
Seized from the suspect was a small sachet containing the suspected shabu
that was the subject of the buy bust, P500 buy bust money, and 5 500 boodle
money.

Recovered from his possession were two medium size sachets, one small
size sachet containing what is believed to be shabu, a unit mobile phone, a
pouch made into a container for what is believed to be shabu, and a unit
motor. Approximately 11 grams of suspected shabu were seized and its
standard drug price is P74,800.00.
Corpus identified the suspects as street level individual (SLI) watchlist of the
Panglao Municipal Police Station. The suspect is now detained at the Panglao
PNP jail MPS while the evidence is submitted to the Bohol PNP Crime
Laboratory for examination and custody.
The Panglao Police is set to charge the suspect with violation of section 5 and
section 11, article 2, of R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act
of 2002.
Last month, an employee of the Provincial Government of Bohol was captured
in possession of prohibited drugs worth P1.8 million.
The 51-year-old licensed veterinarian and employee of Bohol Capitol was
arrested on May 21, 2023 during a buy-bust operation conducted at Purok-4,
Barangay Mariveles, Dauis, Bohol.
The suspect, identified as Frederick Pamatong Madriñan, was found to be in
possession of 275 grams of marijuana worth P1,870,000.00 based on a
Standard Drug Price.
Madriñan was employed at the office of the Provincial Veterinarian in the
Province of Bohol.
The drug bust operation was led by the operatives of Dauis Municipal Police
Station (MPS) of Bohol Police Provincial Office in coordination with the
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
