Town News-JAGNA

Jagna mayor Joseph Rañola (inset, upper right corner)
welcomes a team of students from the esteemed
College of Medicine at Ateneo de Manila University, one
of the Philippines’ well-known universities. The team
made a significant gesture by paying a courtesy visit to
Mayor Joseph Rañola on June 26, 2023. Despite the
physical distance, the students engaged in a virtual
meeting with the mayor from the comfort of his office.
The mayor warmly welcomed the students and took the
opportunity to inquire about their expectations for their
immersion in the municipality. Over the course of several
days, these eleven aspiring medical practitioners will
have the invaluable opportunity to observe the medical
practices employed by the town through the Municipal
Health Office. This experience promises to enhance
their understanding and contribute to their growth as

future healthcare professionals.The students expressed
their awe and admiration on their first day as they
witnessed firsthand how the Municipal Health Office
effectively managed the healthcare needs of Jagna’s
40,000 constituents. With a doctor-to-Jagnaanon ratio of
1:20,000, the office’s dedication and commitment to the
well-being of the community left the students amazed
and inspired. Mayor Joseph Rañola’s administration
takes great pride in the fact that Jagna has become an
immersion destination for the prestigious Ateneo de
Manila University. The collaboration between the
municipality and the renowned university not only
showcases the town’s commitment to fostering
education and growth but also highlights the mayor’s
vision for the advancement of medical practices and the
overall development of the local healthcare system.
