Rare Luzon Boobook owl found in Bohol

A rare Luzon Boobook owl was found in Bohol last weekend, according to a report from the Philippine Bird Photography Forum.

The owl was photographed in the forest belonging to the Rajah Sikatuna Protected Landscape in Bilar.

The Luzon Boobook is a medium-sized owl with a distinctive face that resembles both a hawk and an owl.

It is found in the forests of Luzon, Mindoro, and Marinduque. This is the first time that the owl has been recorded in Bohol.

The discovery of the Luzon Boobook in Bohol is a significant event for bird conservation in the Philippines.

The owl is a vulnerable species, and its range is shrinking due to habitat loss and fragmentation.

The discovery of the owl in Bohol suggests that there may be more owls in the area than previously thought.

The Philippine Bird Photography Forum is calling on birders and conservationists to help protect the Luzon Boobook and its habitat. They are urging people to report any sightings of the owl to the forum.

The Luzon Boobook is a beautiful and unique bird, and its discovery in Bohol is a testament to the biodiversity of the Philippines. (With reporting from Ven Rebo Arigo)
