Representing the NCR Team as incoming Grade 12 of the
Ateneo de Manila Senior High School, Tirol, and his teammates

made their presence felt in the secondary boys’ relay events,
setting a new swimming record and tying another.
In the 4x50m freestyle relay, Tirol and his team achieved a
remarkable time of 1:40.64, surpassing the previous record of
1:41:45 set in 2018. Tirol, the second jumper made a
remarkable performance as he made the fastest split time of
the race and a personal best of 24.40 seconds and gave his
team the lead going into the final 2 laps of the contest.
Similarly, in the 4x100m freestyle relay, they clocked an
impressive time of 3:41.38 tying the race record established in

  1. As the first jumper, it was another impressive swim by
the young Boholano clocking a race-leading and personal best
    time of 54.68 seconds.
In addition to his outstanding performance in relay events, Tirol
also showcased his prowess, securing two bronze medals in
    the 50 and 100-meter breaststroke.
This year’s Palarong Pambansa carries the theme
“BatangMalakas, BansangMatatag” and has seen the active
participation of more than 9,000 elementary and high school
student-athletes from all 17 regions of the Philippines.
Tirol’s exceptional talent and dedication to swimming have
undoubtedly made his fellow Boholanos proud as he continues
to excel in the national sporting arena.

His achievements at such a young age served as an inspiration
to aspiring athletes across the country. He is the second
Boholano student-athlete to establish a swimming record in the
Palarong Pambansa. The other one is fellow UB VDT-ALC
alumnus and elder brother Rian Marco Adiong Tirol, whose
    individual records remain untouched.
