Jagna Mayor Joseph Rañola (inset, upper left corner) is sharing with us this information about Jagna. The
Ecological Solid Waste Management (ESWM) team of the Province of Bohol conducted a thorough
evaluation of the ISWM Department in Jagna, led by Leonilo Lafuente, on August 9, 2023. The team was
cordially welcomed by the Municipal Administrator, Teresa Gina Ranan, and Assistant ISWM/MENRO,
Melba Bucog. The guest evaluators, along with representatives from three barangays – Pagina, Looc, and
Tubod Mar—assessed various aspects of solid waste management. During its evaluation, the team
inspected the surrounding areas, reviewed documents, assessed Executive Ordinances, examined
households, scrutinized waste disposal practices, and addressed other matters pertinent to effective
waste management. Notably, the evaluators also visited key locations such as the Jagna Business
Center, RHU Building, Jagna Central Elementary School, and Recycling Materials Facilities. This
comprehensive evaluation serves as a crucial step toward enhancing solid waste management practices
in the municipality of Jagna. Vice Mayor Teofisto Pagar Jr. also graced the event on behalf of Mayor
Joseph Rañola, delivering a meaningful and uplifting message, and assuring that whatever
recommendations are given by the evaluators will be carefully followed for the betterment of Jagna. The
officials expressed gratitude for the evaluators’ valuable insights, advice, and recommendations. The
ISWM/MENRO Office extends an earnest appeal to all Jagnaanons and residents of other barangays to
collaborate further on this vital matter. Their cooperation is essential in maintaining the cleanliness,
orderliness, and overall organization of the municipality of Jagna, which is one of the top priorities of
Mayor Joseph Rañola. Contributed photo
