New Tagbilaran City Fire Station to rise soon after ground breaking ceremony

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and the Tagbilaran City Local Government Unit (LGU) held a ground breaking ceremony for the new Tagbilaran City Fire Station in Calceta Street on August 16, 2023.

The ceremony was led by BFP Fire Director Louie Puracan, a native of Bohol, and Tagbilaran City Mayor Jane Yap. They were joined by BFP Regional Director FCSupt. Roberto Genave, Bohol Fire Marshall FSupt. Raul Bustaliño, City Fire Marshall FCaptain Harley Glenn Galpo, and other officials from the BFP and the LGU.

Mayor Yap expressed her gratitude to the BFP for their support and partnership in building the new fire station, which will replace the old one that was severely damaged by super typhoon Odette last year.

She said that the new fire station will be more modern, spacious, and equipped with better facilities and equipment to serve the people of Tagbilaran City.

The new fire station will cost about P30 million, which will be funded by the BFP and the LGU.

It is expected to be completed within a year. The new fire station will have a three-storey building with a garage, offices, dormitories, training rooms, and a command center. It will also have a helipad, a fire tower, and a water tank.

The new fire station will enhance the capacity and readiness of the BFP to respond to fire incidents and other emergencies in Tagbilaran City and nearby areas. It will also improve the safety and welfare of the firefighters and their families.

The ground breaking ceremony was attended by City Vice Mayor Adam Relson Jala, City Councilors Fausto Budlong, Jane Ruiz, Ondoy Borja, Charles Cabalit, CLGOO Juliet Olalo, and other guests from the public and private sectors.
