PDEA-7, NAVFORCEN and Tagbilaran police raid drug den in Bohol

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol – A joint operation by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas (PDEA-7), the Naval Forces Central (NAVFORCEN) and the Tagbilaran City police station resulted in the dismantling of a house that was used as an illegal drug den in Barangay Cogon, Tagbilaran City, Bohol on August 15, 2023.

Four people were arrested during the raid, including the caretaker and maintainer of the drug den, identified as Allan Mancha, alias Tata, 51.

The other suspects were Mark Angelo Pilayre, 29, a construction worker and his live-in partners Mark Gabriel Morada, 28, and Melly Joy Cartagenas.

The operatives seized six packets of suspected shabu weighing 14 grams with a street value of P95,200 from the suspects.

Leia Alcantara, the information officer of PDEA-7, said that they had been monitoring Mancha for a week after receiving a tip from a reliable source.

She said that Mancha was hired to guard a plot of land with a house that was no longer being used by the owner.

However, he turned it into a drug den and charged P50.00 per user as an entrance fee.

Alcantara said that the operation was part of their intensified campaign against illegal drugs in the region.

She also thanked the NAVFORCEN and the Tagbilaran police for their support and coordination.

She urged the public to report any suspicious activities or persons involved in illegal drugs to their hotline numbers: (032) 233-0241 or 0927-680-5192.
