The City Government of Tagbilaran, through the City Agriculture and Veterinary Office under the leadership of Dr. Genette Mae Egos, recently conducted a series of activities to promote responsible pet ownership and animal welfare, spanning across key barangays within the city.

The campaign, featuring free spaying, neutering, rabies vaccinations, and deworming services, recently concluded its successful run in barangays Poblacion I, Dampas, and San Isidro.

City Mayor Jane Yap expressed her heartfelt appreciation for the dedicated efforts of Dr. Egos and the team from the City Agrivet Office.

She also emphasized the importance of responsible pet care in maintaining a harmonious and thriving city.

Mayor Jane Yap said: “We treat our pets as part of our family and it is our responsibility to ensure their well-being.”

The free spaying and neutering services offered during the campaign are crucial in addressing pet population, a concern that has far-reaching effects.

Rabies vaccinations and deworming services are also critical steps toward preventing the spread of diseases among animals and humans.

By providing these services at no cost to pet owners, the City Government of Tagbilaran demonstrates its commitment to safeguarding public health and promoting a safer and healthier environment.

Pet owners who participated in the campaign expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the initiative, emphasizing importance in ensuring the health and happiness of their cherished companions.
