Bohol Water, the company that operates the water supply system in Tagbilaran City and
parts of Baclayon, Dauis and Corella, is celebrating its 23rd anniversary this month.
The company started its operation on December 28, 2000, after signing a joint venture
agreement (JVA) with the Provincial Government of Bohol on August 28, 2000.
As part of the celebration, Bohol Water distributed giveaways to consumers who paid
their water bills at their office on August 25, 2023. The giveaways include 5 kg rice, mug
and umbrella.
Bohol Water has been committed to improving the water services in its service areas, in
accordance with the terms and conditions of the JVA.

Bohol Water has invested in upgrading the water lines, adding water sources (pumping
stations), constructing more reservoirs or tanks and acquiring generator sets to ensure
continuous water supply even during power outages.
The company is also addressing the problem of low to no water pressure in some areas
due to “air lock” by installing “air release valves” in those locations.
One of the achievements of Bohol Water is the reduction of its system’s loss from 45%
in December 2000 to 14% in July 2023.
System’s loss is the percentage of water that is wasted from the sources or pumping
stations and reservoirs due to leakages or other causes.
Bohol Water has implemented a non-revenue water reduction (NRWR) program to
prevent water wastage and ensure efficient water delivery.
The company also conducts monthly leak detection activities that involve all employees
from 10 pm to 12 midnight. The activity started in April in Barangay Cogon, followed by
Barangay Dampas in May, Barangay San Isidro in June, Barangay Dao in July and
Barangay Pob. II in August.
Currently, Bohol Water has 27 pumping stations, 8 reservoirs and 11 generator sets
serving Tagbilaran City, part of Baclayon, Dauis and Corella.
Bohol Water has a permit from the National Water Resources Board (NWRB) to operate
in these areas. For Dauis and Corella, Bohol Water only provides bulk water supply.
Bohol Water is also planning to add more water sources from surface water to meet the
increasing demand for water in its service areas.
Bohol Water is grateful to its consumers for their support and cooperation over the
years, a statement of the company said.
The company assures them of its continued dedication to providing quality and reliable
water services.
