Batuan Mayor appeals for help to find missing 12-year-old girl

Batuan, Bohol – Mayor Dodo Jumawid of Batuan, Bohol has issued an urgent appeal for help to find a missing 12-year-old girl, Christal Mae Talan, who was last seen on August 29, 2023.

According to the mayor, Christal Mae Talan, a resident of barangay Rizal, Batuan, Bohol, left her home on Sunday morning and boarded a Ceres bus from barangay Rizal to the town center. She is believed to have continued her journey to Trinidad and possibly Leyte.

The mayor warned anyone who may have taken or accompanied the minor, which is illegal and punishable by law, to bring her to the nearest police station, social welfare office, or barangay hall. 

He also urged anyone who may have information about her whereabouts to contact the Batuan Police Station at 09985986404 or the Municipal Social Welfare Office at 09568235720.

The mayor said that the local government unit of Batuan, through the Batuan Police Station and the Municipal Social Welfare Office, is working closely with the family of the missing girl and coordinating with other police stations in the region to locate her.

He also requested that in cases like this, the parents or guardians of missing children should report immediately to the authorities or seek assistance from barangay officials. He said that time is of the essence in finding and rescuing missing children.
