NFA Region VII honored by Cebu Provincial Government for its partnership and support 

The National Food Authority (NFA) Region VII was among the recipients of a Certificate of Appreciation from the Cebu Provincial Government during the “Gabii sa Pasalamat” event held on August 31, 2023. 

The event was part of the celebration of the 454th founding anniversary of Cebu Province.

The Certificate of Appreciation was presented by Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia, Vice-Governor Hilario Davide III, and the Board Members to NFA Region VII Regional Manager Maria Fe H. Evasco and NFA Cebu Acting Branch Manager Annie de la Cerna. 

The award recognized the NFA Region VII for its valuable partnership and support to the Provincial Government in implementing its programs and projects throughout the year.

The “Gabii sa Pasalamat” event was a thanksgiving dinner that served as a platform to express gratitude and appreciation to all the partners, collaborators, and volunteers of the Provincial Government. 

The event was attended by representatives from various sectors, such as local government units, national government agencies, civil society organizations, private sector, media, and academe.

Governor Garcia expressed her gratitude to all the partners for their cooperation and contribution to the development of Cebu Province. 

She also highlighted some of the achievements and challenges of her administration in the past year, such as the response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the rehabilitation of tourism industry, the promotion of agriculture and food security, and the implementation of infrastructure projects.

NFA Region VII Regional Manager Evasco thanked the Provincial Government for the recognition and assured that NFA will continue to support its initiatives and advocacies. 

She also commended the Provincial Government for its efforts in ensuring food security and stability in Cebu Province, especially during the pandemic.

NFA Region VII is one of the regional offices of NFA, a government-owned and controlled corporation under the Department of Agriculture. 

NFA is mandated to ensure food security and stabilize supply and prices of rice and corn in the country. NFA Region VII covers the provinces of Cebu, Bohol, Negros Oriental, and Siquijor.
