City GSO Head bags CSC Pagasa award

Tagbilaran City General Services Officer Dr. Chris John Rener Torralba, during a momentous occasion, was named Regional Winner of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) Pagasa Award in the prestigious CSC 2023 Honor Awards Program.

The ceremony, held on September 8, 2023, at the DepEd Ecotech Pavilion in Cebu City, was also attended by City Administrator Cathelyn Torremocha.

The CSC Pagasa Award is a highly regarded form of recognition bestowed upon individuals or groups of individuals who have made exceptional contributions that directly benefit more than one department of the government.

Dr. Torralba’s outstanding achievements and unwavering commitment to public service have earned him this esteemed regional accolade.

Under Dr. Torralba’s leadership, the City General Services Office has been instrumental in implementing innovative and efficient programs and services that have significantly improved various aspects of local governance.

His dedication to streamlining processes, enhancing public service delivery, and ensuring the well-being of Tagbilaran’s constituents has not gone unnoticed.

City Mayor Jane Yap expressed her heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Torralba, stating, “Dr. Torralba’s exceptional dedication and tireless efforts have been instrumental in shaping Tagbilaran into the vibrant city it is today.

This recognition is well-deserved and serves as an inspiration for all of us in the City Government of Tagbilaran to continue striving for excellence in serving our people.”

Owing to Dr. Torralba’s exemplary leadership, he has been designated as Officer-In-Charge of the Tagbilaran City Water Works System since July 2022.

Previous CSC Pagasa awardees from the City Government of Tagbilaran included former Mayor John Geesnell “Baba” Yap II, City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer Gerard Lavadia and the team from the City Health Office composed of Dr. Jeia Pondoc, nurse Reina Torralba-Balay, medical technologist Emma Sagaral, and midwife Hannafil Pacomios.

Dr. Torralba’s accomplishments, coupled with the continuous support and guidance of the City Government of Tagbilaran, have further solidified the city’s commitment to providing quality public service to its residents.

This award serves as a testament to the city’s unwavering pursuit of service excellence for the betterment of Tagbilaranons.
