Boholana accountant ranks 7th in national treasury exam

A municipal accountant from Catigbian, Bohol has made her province proud by placing 7th in the Basic Competency on Local Treasury Examination (BCLTE) given by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) last June. She is Flor Mae R. Gahi, who scored 90.77 out of 100, among the 1,018 passers nationwide. The passers represented only 18.09% of the total number of examinees.

Gahi, who is also a resident of Catigbian, received her Local Treasurer Eligibility from the CSC, which qualifies her for appointment to Local Treasurer and Assistant Local Treasurer positions, and to positions under the Financial Services that do not involve practice of profession and are not covered by Bar/Board or special laws.

She is married to Emmanuel Gahi, who hails from Habitat Village in Bool, Tagbilaran City.

The topnotcher of the BCLTE was Jenny B. Sagario from Zamboanga Peninsula, who got a rating of 92.62. Other top performers were Charlie C. Bastida (Northern Mindanao)-92.31; Leynette Joy A. The CSC said that examinees may generate their test result using the Online Civil Service Examination Result Generation System (OCSERGS), which can be accessed through the CSC website [www.csc.gov.ph].

Those who passed, the CSC added, may claim their Certification of Eligibility at the CSC Regional Office concerned.

The BCLTE was held on June 11, 2023 in various testing centers nationwide. A total of 5,626 individuals took the exam, but only 1,018 passed.

The Bicol Region had the highest passing rate at 28.95% or 88 passers out of 304 examinees. Other regions with notable passing rates were: Southern Tagalog-26.71% (117 passers out of 438 examinees); Cagayan Valley-24.62% (64 passers out of 260 examinees): Central Luzon-23.99% (65 passers out of 271 examinees); and Ilocos Region-23.87% (58 passers out of 243 examinees).
