High-Value drug suspect arrested in Tagbilaran City

A high-value drug suspect was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Tagbilaran City, Bohol on Sunday night, September 10, 2023.

The suspect, name withheld by the PNP, was a resident of Barangay Guiwanon, Baclayon, Bohol and was on the watchlist of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

According to the Tagbilaran City Police Station, the operation was conducted by their Drug Enforcement Team (DET) led by PCPT Agosto Cesario L Sumaylo, under the supervision of PLTCOL Homobuno Romero Sayon, Chief of Police.

The operatives seized from the suspect about 50 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of Php 340,000.00. The illegal drugs were placed in a transparent plastic sachet and marked with the initials of the suspect.

The operation was witnessed by elected barangay officials of Tiptip and a representative from the Department of Justice (DOJ).

The suspect was informed of his constitutional rights and brought to the Tagbilaran City Police Station for proper booking, documentation, and filing of charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The seized drugs were submitted to the PNP Bohol Forensic Unit for examination and custody.

The Tagbilaran City Police Station said that the arrest of the high-value drug suspect was part of their intensified campaign against illegal drugs in the city.

Police also urged the public to report any suspicious activities or persons involved in drug trafficking to their hotline numbers.
