“The Expend4bles” at
Screenville Cinemas

Hollywood’s action stars Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, and Dolph
Lundgren reunite as elite mercenaries on a mission to stop the smuggling of
nuclear warheads that will ignite World War III in the fourth installment,
“The Expend4bles”, now showing at Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall
and Alturas Mall.
The Expendables are back to save the world when an arms dealer
Suarto Rahmat (Indonesian actor Iko Uwais-“The Raid” films) tries to create
a nuclear conflict between Russia and the United States by trying to explode
a nuclear warhead in the Russian waters, transporting them on a ship
disguised as an American carrier.
Armed with every weapon they can unleash on, the Expendables are
the world’s last line of defense, and the team to call and rely on when all
other options are no longer available.
Stallone reprises his role as the Expendables leader Barney Ross, while
Statham returns as knife expert Lee Christmas. Lundgren is also back as
heavy weapon expert Gunner Jensen, together with Randy Couture as
demolitions expert Toll Road. New in the cast are rapper/actor Curtis “50
Cent” Jackson, Megan Fox, Andy Garcia (“The Godfather”), and Thai martial
artist Tony Jaa (“Ong Bak”).

“Saw X” at
Screenville Cinemas

The tenth installment overall in one of the highest-grossing horror
film series of all time about fictional serial killer John “Jigsaw” Kramer, and
serves as the direct sequel to “Saw” in 2004, “Saw X” will premiere
worldwide on Wednesday, September 27, at Screenville Cinemas of Island
City Mall and Alturas Mall.
Jigsaw is back in the most chilling part of the “Saw” franchise which
explores the untold chapter of Jigsaw’s most personal vicious game.
Set between the events of “Saw” and “Saw 2”, a sick and desperate
John Kramer (Tobin Bell) travels to Mexico after learning of a potential cure
for his terminal cancer. He is hoping for a miracle to get rid of his illness and
save his life through a risky and experimental medical procedure.
However, he soon realizes that the procedure they did was fake, and
they just scammed him out of his money. This leads the infamous serial
killer to set up new horrifying traps for the con artists to teach them all a
deadly and bloody lesson.

Pink Run 2023
fires off Sunday

About 3,000 runners are expected to take part in this year’s Pink Run
this coming Sunday, October 1, which will wind its way from the Island
City Mall carpark down to the town of Dauis, via Bool junction passing the
Borja bridge all the way to Panglao island central highway.
As of noon yesterday, there are 2,789 registered professional
runners and other running enthusiasts in different categories – 5K, 10K,
and 21K.
The 5K and 10K runners will get full sublimation T-shirt, finisher
medal, race bib, snacks, and product samples from sponsors; while 21k
runners will receive full sublimation T-shirt, finisher medal, race bib,
sports water bottle, breakfast meal, and product samples from sponsors.
The gun start for each category is 4:45 am for 5k, 4:15 am for 10k,
and 4:00 am for 21k. After the run, a Zumba Marathon is scheduled at
4:00 o’ clock in the afternoon at the Island City Mall carpark, featuring
Manila-based zumba instructor celebrity Arvin Jones Velasquez, also a
professional dancer and choreographer. More than 200 participants had
already registered for the zumba as of yesterday.
Conducted in cooperation with the City Government of Tagbilaran
and media partners The Bohol Chronicle, Kiss 102.3 FM, and DYRD, this
prestigious charity run for breast cancer awareness is organized by the
Alay Marcela Foundation of the Alturas Group of Companies (AGC) as part
of the nationwide observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month of October.
The gross proceeds will be donated to the breast cancer patients.
Last year, the P200,000 proceeds were given to the 20 cancer-
stricken beneficiaries who received cash assistance worth P10,000 each.
AGC is grateful to all the sponsors and participating runners who, in one way
or another, contributed to the worthwhile humanitarian undertaking.
