Sunduwan Spring re-opens with support from provincial and local governments

Governor Aris Aumentado graced the re-opening of Sunduwan Spring in Barangay San Roque in Maribojoc on September 23, 2023.

The spring, which is a popular tourist attraction and a source of water for farm irrigation, underwent redevelopment with the support of the Provincial Government of Bohol along with the municipal and barangay local governments.

The Governor lauded the efforts of the local officials and the community in preserving and enhancing the natural beauty and potential of the spring.

He also expressed support for plans to develop the spring as a water supply source for residents in the area.

Board Member Aldner Damalerio, who chairs the committee on environment and natural resources, said that the Provincial Government of Bohol allocated funds for the improvement of the spring’s facilities and amenities.

He added that the spring is one of the eco-tourism destinations that the province is promoting to attract more visitors and generate income for the locals.

Mayor Romulo Manuta thanked the Governor and the Board Member for their assistance and partnership in redeveloping the spring.

He said that the spring is not only for swimming; it is also a vital resource for agriculture and livelihood in the area. He urged the residents to take care of the spring and protect it from pollution and vandalism.

Vice Mayor Emilio Castilla, Barangay Captain Sonny Candole, along with municipal and barangay officials, also attended the occasion.

They expressed their gratitude to the provincial and local governments for their support and cooperation in making the project possible.

They also invited tourists and visitors to come and enjoy the refreshing waters of Sunduwan Spring.
