This was taken during the ceremonial unveiling of Important Cultural Property (ICP) Markers in Tagbilaran City on September 27, 2023 done at the National Museum of the Philippines-Bohol.Tagbilaran City enhances Procurement Compliance through workshopThe City Government of Tagbilaran, in an effort to enhance its procurement processes, and in collaboration with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through its Cities for Enhanced Governance and Engagement (CHANGE) Project, organized a Procurement Assessment Workshop on September 27 to 28, 2023 at the Ivywall Resort, Panglao. This workshop was attended by the Tagbilaran City Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) led by Ms. Cathelyn O. Torremocha serving as the BAC Chair, the BAC Technical Working Group, key personnel of the City General Services Office and Office of the City Accountant and civil society representatives. Dr. Rosalinda Paredes, USAID CHANGE City Governance Coordinator and workshop facilitator explained that the primary objective of the workshop which was to formulate a comprehensive Procurement Compliance Improvement Action Plan. Through this workshop, the City Government of Tagbilaran was able to evaluate its current procurement practices and identify areas that require enhancement. It also provided a platform for the participants to share insights, best practices, and strategies to address the complexities of procurement in the public sector.Mayor Jane Yap expressed her support for this initiative, emphasizing its importance in achieving better governance. “Efficient and transparent procurement is essential in our mission to provide quality services to our constituents. This workshop signifies our commitment to improving our processes continually,” Mayor Yap stated.The collaborative effort between the City Government of Tagbilaran and USAID CHANGE reflects a shared commitment to promoting good governance, accountability, and responsible financial management.
