Presidential Proclamation No. 470 declares the third Saturday of September of each year as International Coastal Clean-Up (ICC) Day in observance of the Global Coastal Clean-Up celebration. In this connection Sikatuna Mayor Justiniana Ellorimo (6th from right), said that earlier on Sept. 16, 2023, LGU Sikatuna and all the BLGU’s, joined in the simultaneous international coastal clean-up drive 2023 by cleaning up all the streets in the area. Mayor Ellorimo further said that the activity was a way of rehabilitating the town’s own environment. This activity, she added, was in observance of the Annual International Coastal Clean-Up 2023 with the theme, “Clean Seas for Healthy Fisheries: Sustainably Feed the Global Population, a collaborative outreach initiative that unites the world together towards the preservation and conservation of shorelines, waterways, and the environment”.
