Jeju Air, the largest low-cost carrier in South Korea, has launched direct flights to
Bohol, one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Philippines.
The airline started operating daily flights from Incheon International Airport to
Panglao International Airport on October 1, 2023, and will also offer daily flights from
Gimhae International Airport in Busan to Panglao starting October 30, 2023.
The new routes are expected to boost the tourism industry in Bohol, which boasts of
its natural attractions such as the Chocolate Hills, the Loboc River, and the Tarsier
Sanctuary. Bohol is also known for its rich culture and history, as well as its white-
sand beaches and diving spots.
Jeju Air has partnered with BE Grand Resort Bohol, a premier resort located in
Panglao Island, to provide accommodation for its airline crew during their layovers.
The resort offers spacious rooms and suites, a private beach, an infinity pool, a spa,
and various dining options. The resort also provides shuttle service to and from the
airport for the convenience of the guests.
BE Grand Resort Bohol expressed its delight in welcoming the first batch of Jeju Air’s
crew on October 1, 2023. The resort said that it is honored to be the official home of
the airline in Bohol, and that it is looking forward to serving more guests from South
Korea and other countries.
Jeju Air is the first Korean airline to fly directly to Bohol, which is expected to
increase the number of Korean visitors to the island.
According to the Department of Tourism, Korea was the top source of foreign tourists
in the Philippines in 2022, accounting for 24.7% of the total arrivals.
Jeju Air hopes to contribute to the recovery of the Philippine tourism sector, which
was severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Jeju Air is offering promotional fares for its flights to Bohol until October 31, 2023.
Travelers can book their tickets online through the airline’s website or mobile app, or
through travel agencies.
Jeju Air also advises its passengers to follow the health and safety protocols of both
countries before traveling.
