Free Eye Surgical Mission in Bohol Set on December 1, 2023

Bohol, Philippines – A team of doctors from the International Academy of Medical Specialist Incorporated (IAMS) is conducting a free eye surgical mission in Ubay, Bohol, as part of the “Operation Klaro: Bohol Gift of Sight” program.

The outreach program, which aims to restore the vision of Bol-anons with eye problems, is spearheaded by Governor Aris Aumentado and First Lady, Congresswoman Vanvan Aumentado, in partnership with the Philippine Gift of Life Foundation (PGLF).

The surgical mission will be held on December 1, 2023 at the Don Emilio del Valle Memorial Hospital (DEDVMH) in Ubay, one of the largest towns in Bohol.

According to Dr. Reynaldo Arcilla, the president of IAMS, the mission will cater to patients with cataracts, pterygium, glaucoma, and other eye diseases.

He said that the mission is expected to benefit around 300 patients from different parts of the province.

Governor Aumentado expressed his gratitude to the IAMS and PGLF for their support and generosity.

He said the program is part of his administration’s vision to provide quality health care and services to the Bol-anons, especially those who are in need.

He also thanked his wife, Congresswoman Aumentado, for her active involvement and advocacy in promoting health and wellness in Bohol.

Congresswoman Aumentado, who is also the chairperson of the House Committee on Health, said she is happy to see the program come to fruition.

She said she has been working closely with the IAMS and PGLF to make this possible. She added that she hopes that through this program, more Bol-anons will be able to see clearly and enjoy a brighter future.

The “Operation Klaro: Bohol Gift of Sight” program is one of the many initiatives that the Aumentado administration has implemented to improve the health and well-being of the Bol-anons.

The program is also in line with the Abante Bohol agenda, which aims to advance the development and progress of the province.
