Camp Dagohoy assures peaceful, fair elections

The provincial police command has assured the Boholano public that the upcoming
barangay and SK elections here will be peaceful and fair.
In an interview over DYTR’s Open Forum program hosted by Ardy Araneta Batoy,
deputy director PLtCol. Norman Nuez said he and his men are working closely with
other agencies to ensure the safety and security of voters and candidates.
At the radio program, Nuez was accompanied by his chief of staff, PEMS Francisco
Briones.
Nuez told DYTR they are not allowed to campaign for any political party or
candidate, and that they are reminding their police officers in the different stations in
Bohol to strictly follow the rules and regulations of the election.
He said they are coordinating with the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the
Philippine Coastguard, the Bureau of Fire Protection, and the Bureau of Jail
Management and Penology, as they are all part of the Military and Uniform
Personnel (MUP) who are tasked to protect and serve the people.
He thanked the listeners and followers of the program for their support and trust in
the police.
“We are here to serve the people and to make sure that no untoward incident
happens in the election,” Nuez said.
Batoy praised Nuez and his men for their efforts to bring the police closer to the
people, saying that she received a lot of positive feedback from her friends and
listeners about their initiative.
She then asked Nuez about his opinion on the peace and order situation of the
province, to which he replied that he is confident that it will remain stable and
peaceful.
The interview ended with Nuez inviting the public to exercise their right to vote and to
cooperate with the authorities in maintaining order and harmony during the election
period.
He also reminded them to follow the health protocols such as wearing face masks,
observing physical distancing, and avoiding mass gatherings.

He also announced that DYTR management has decided to increase their airtime
due to public demand.
He said they will be back next week with more updates and information about their
activities and achievements.
He thanked Batoy for giving them the opportunity to share their stories and to
interact with the listeners.
Nuez also thanked the Bohol Tribune for publishing their news and reports.
He noted that they are always open to feedback and suggestions from the media
and the public.
LtCol. Nuez stressed the police officers in Bohol are doing their best to serve and
protect the people of Bohol.
He also gave his final statement, saying that he is thankful for the support of their
radio program over DYTR which aims to give the true and correct information to the
people.
“We are ready and willing to serve the people even at the cost of our lives,” he said.
Nuez urged the Boholano listeners to be vigilant and not to become victims of evil
people who are spreading lies on air.
He said that if they see anything suspicious, they should report it to their local police
stations or call their hotline numbers.
