Bohol Congressman Edgar M. Chatto expressed his joy and congratulations to the
newly elected Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials in Bohol, saying
that the elections were a success.
The Bohol first district representative praised the leaders who won the trust and
support of the people during the 10th episode of his bi-monthly program Kita ug
Atong Kongresista on Friday.
He also hoped that the elected officials would have a productive and meaningful
term, and encouraged them to learn from their experiences and challenges.
For the young SK leaders, Chatto shared his own journey from being a Kabataang
Barangay member at the age of 19, where he started his public service career.
He emphasized the responsibility of the youth leaders in managing the SK funds and
implementing programs that would benefit and empower their sector.
He also advised them to be humble in victory and gracious in defeat, and to work
together with their fellow officials and constituents after the elections.
The elected Barangay and SK officials are expected to take their oath of office
before they assume their positions.
