IBP-BOHOL CHAPTER HOLDS FINAL TWO (2) DAYS OF ITS MANDATORY CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION (MCLE) SEMINAR FOR LAWYERS FOR THE EIGHTH (8 TH ) COMPLIANCE PERIOD
The Integrated Bar of the Philippines-Bohol Chapter hosted the final two (2) days of its four (4)-
day Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) Seminar last Friday and yesterday, 03-04 November
2023, at MetroCentre Hotel and Convention Center.
During the final two (2) days of the MCLE Seminar, the following were the topics and the
lecturers: (a) International Criminal Law and the International Criminal Court (International Law and
International Conventions) by Dean Marivic T. Daray; (b) Special Subjects in Philippine Arbitration:
Arbitration before the Construction Industry Arbitration Commission and the National Conciliation and
Mediation Board (Alternative Dispute Resolution) by Cruz Marcelo & Tenefrancia Deputy Managing
Partner Atty. Elmar B. Galacio; (c) New Rules on Evidence as Applied in Criminal Cases (Trial and Pre-Trial
Skills) by Muntinlupa RTC Judge Gener M. Gito; (d) Jurisprudential Trends in Family Law Cases (Updates
in Substantive and Procedural Laws and Recent Jurisprudence) by Court of Appeals Justice Emily L. San
Gaspar-Gito; (e) Adoption: A Purely Administrative Affair (Updates in Substantive and Procedural Laws
and Recent Jurisprudence) by Professor Aliakhbar A. Jumrani; (f) Pre-Trial and Trial with the 2019
Amendments to the Rules of Civil Procedure by Cebu City RTC Judge Anacleto G. Debalucos; (g) Recent
Issuances of the Land Registration Authority and Recent Jurisprudence on Land Titles and Deeds
(Updates in Substantive and Procedural Laws and Recent Jurisprudence) by Atty. Aliakhbar A. Jumrani;
(h) Updates on Anti-Corruption Laws and Jurisprudence (Updates in Substantive and Procedural Laws
and Recent Jurisprudence) by Office of the Special Prosecutor Assistant Special Prosecutor Ryan Rey S.
Quilala; and (i) Social Media and the Lawyer: Balancing Free Speech vis-à-vis the Code of Professional
Responsibility and Accountability (Legal Ethics) by Atty. Edward P. Chico.
IBP-Bohol’s MCLE Seminar became more exciting by the raffle items, i.e., books, mugs, and
umbrellas, by Rex Bookstore. For the grand prize, exhibitor Filipino Homes – LR Solid Team raffled two
(2) vouchers for Overnight Stay for two (2) at the Be Grand Resort – Panglao.
