Panglao police arrest drug suspect with 1 million worth of shabu

Panglao, Bohol – A high-value drug suspect was arrested by the Panglao Police Station in a
buy-bust operation on November 6, 2023.
The suspect, identified only as alias “CJ”, was caught with more or less 150 grams of shabu,
with a standard drug price of P1,020,000.00, according to PCPT John Khalev Diel Sanchez,
officer-in-charge of Panglao PNP.
The operation took place around 8:40 PM at Purok 3, Barangay Tawala, Panglao, Bohol,
with the coordination of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
Aside from the illegal drugs, the police also confiscated a touch screen realme cellphone, a
black pouch sling bag, 18 pieces of one thousand peso bills used as buy-bust money, and a
black Suzuki raider motorcycle without a plate number.
The arrested suspect was brought to the Panglao Municipal Health Office for medical
evaluation and then to the Panglao Police Station for proper disposition.
He will face charges for violation of Section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs) and Section 11
(possession of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The buy-bust operation was witnessed by representatives from the Department of Justice,
the media, and the barangay officials.
PCPT Sanchez said that the Panglao Police Station will continue to intensify the campaign
against any forms of criminality, especially illegal drug activity, in their town, with the active
support from the local government unit and the community.
