JUNREY BARBANTE
A Boholano fresh graduate was among the victims of the bombing that occurred at
the Marawi State University during a mass at the school gym yesterday morning.
He was identified as JunreyBarbante, a resident of Barangay Dipatlong, Maribojoc,
Bohol. He graduated from the College of Engineering and Technology with a degree
in Civil Engineering last month.
According to his classmates, Barbante was attending the mass with his friends when
the explosion happened. He was severely injured by the blast and died on the way to
the hospital.
Barbante’s family and relatives expressed their grief and shock over his untimely
death. They described him as a kind, hardworking, and cheerful person who had a
bright future ahead of him.
The bombing, which killed at least 15 people and wounded dozens more, was
allegedly perpetrated by a group of terrorists affiliated with the Islamic State. The
authorities are still investigating the motive and the identity of the suspects.
