BPPO Turns Over Another Decent House in Loon, Bohol

By Ardy Araneta-Batoy

The Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO) continues its mission to provide decent housing for the less fortunate families in the province. On November 28, 2023, BPPO Provincial Director, PCOL Lorenzo Alfeche Batuan, led the formal turnover of a newly built house to Ms. Pelpinosas and her family in Barangay Loon, Bohol. The house was constructed by the personnel of the Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) under the leadership of PLTCOL John Kareen O Escober, Force Commander. The project is part of the PMFC C.A.R.E (Community Assistance and Resilience Enhancement) initiative, which aims to strengthen the communities and address their diverse challenges. PMFC C.A.R.E project is also aligned with PCOL Batuan’s Project LAB (Libreng Alagad ug Balay), which signifies a collective effort to create positive and inclusive environments. The beneficiary, Nanay Marita Pelpinosas, is a survivor of Typhoon Odette, which devastated the province in December 2022. She faced difficulties in rebuilding her home due to financial constraints caused by poverty. Her story touched the hearts of the PMFC personnel, who visited her in Brgy Bagacay-Cawayan on July 30, 2023, to understand and extend a helping hand. Her daughter, Ning Sombrio Pelpinosas, also reached out to the PMFC Facebook account, shedding light on their struggles. Despite Ning’s work as a domestic helper, their circumstances made rebuilding impossible without external assistance. BPPO expressed its heartfelt gratitude to the PMFC Panday Team for constructing the house and to the sponsors who made it possible. Special thanks were given to Gov. Aristotle ‘Aris’ Aumentado, Congressman Edgar M. Chatto, Engr. Charles Jubac, Mr. Luis Tan, Mr. Francis Lloyd Llena, PENRO-Bohol, and Mrs. Imelda C. Miner for their continuous support. The turnover marked a significant step in the BPPO’s commitment to public service.
