Tagbilaran City business forum highlights digital processes

In a strategic move to strengthen the efficiency of business permit applications and
renewals, the City Government of Tagbilaran conducted a Business Forum on
November 29, 2023 at the City Hall Atrium.
The event, which drew the participation of business owners, bookkeepers, and
accountants, served as a dialogue platform, enabling business stakeholders to
interact directly with city officials and contribute to ongoing efforts to enhance the
local business landscape.
Mayor Jane Yap expressed her excitement for the transformative changes, stating,
“This Business Forum reflects our commitment of upholding a business-friendly
environment in Tagbilaran City. We believe that these innovations will not only
simplify processes but also contribute to the overall economic vibrancy of our city.”
The forum covered a spectrum of crucial topics, emphasizing efficiency,
transparency, and accessibility in business processes.
Mayor Yap and OIC City Administrator Cathelyn Torremocha spearheaded the
launch of the E-Business Permit and Barangay Clearance Integration. This move
towards digital integration is poised to significantly enhance the efficiency of
obtaining necessary permits.
The Online Business Permit Application and Renewal in One Step Process was
discussed by Mr. Alexander Fiel of the City Treasurer’s Office. Attendees were also
treated to a live simulation of the online business permit application and renewal
process.
The event then showcased the New Unified Form shown as simplified and
standardized forms aimed to streamline administrative procedures, making it easier
for businesses to comply with regulatory requirements.
Representatives from the Bureau of Fire Protection, City Health Office and City
Planning and Development Office (CPDO) provided an overview of the post-
application and renewal processes, while Ms. Jeanette Busano of CPDO presented
insights into the Cities and Municipalities’ Competitive Index.

Mr. Dominic Butalid, President of the Bohol Chamber of Commerce and Industry,
gave a short talk during the gathering while Mr. Leonides Borja, OIC of the City
Economic Enterprise Office delivered the closing message.
Tagbilaran City’s proactive approach to embracing digital solutions aligns with its
vision for a progressive and responsive business environment, further solidifying its
reputation as a business-friendly city in the Philippines.
