The Kumong Bol-anon boxing card, presently one if not the most successful
boxing series in Bohol and the country will hold its 13th fight card on December
28, 2023 at Bohol Wisdom Gym here in Tagbilaran City.
Lawyer Floriezyl Echavez Podot, who recently passed the 2023 Bar Examinations
and who is PMI Bohol Boxing Promotions promoter and manager said the event
will feature the IBF world minimum weight title eliminator duel between Jake “El
Bambino” Amparo of PMI Boxing Promotions and former world champion Pedro
“Kid Heneral” Taduran.
The 26 year old Amparo of Guindulman, Bohol is ranked No. 3 in the IBF’s
minimum weight division, while Taduran, the former IBF world minimum weight
champion is ahead at No. 2.
Amparo has a record of 14 wins with 3 knockouts, 4 losses, and 1 draw. He is
also the reigning World Boxing Organization (WBO) Asia Pacific minimum weight
champion.
On the other hand, Taduran has a record of 15 wins, 4 losses, 1 draw with 12
knockouts.
The winner of the fight becomes the mandatory challenger of IBF minimum weight
king Ginjiro Shigeoka.
In the co-main event, Virgel Vitor of Tagbilaran City (21 wins, 3 loss, 14 KO’s) is
up against South Korean Tae Sum Kim (11 wins, 1 loss, 2 draw, 8 KO’s) for the
vacant WBO Oriental super feather weight crown.
