PDRRMO records over 7K emergencies from Jan. to Nov. 2023

The Provincial Disater Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) of
Bohol has recorded around 7,472 emergency incidents that happened within the
province, spanning the period from January to the end of November 2023, based
on the data of its operations arm, the Telephone and Radio System Integrated
Emergency Response (TaRSIER) 117.
TaRSIER 117 is the branch of the PDRRMO responsible for providing firsr
response to certain critical situations, such as road accidents and medical
emergencies.
Most of the incidents recorded by TaRSIER 117 show that majority of these for
2023 were medical in nature, according to the Philippine Information Agency
(PIA). Other incidents that TaRSIER 117 responded to were motor vehicle
accidents and trauma or severe injuries.
Several of the incidents attended to by TaRSIER 117 also needed police
assistance, the PIA said in its report.
Aside from responding to emergencies, the PDRRMO also conducts pre-disaster
activities, the report adds.
