With the hope of sustaining appreciation for culture and the arts, Danao Mayor Jose Gonzaga Cepedoza (inset, upper right corner) expresses optimism every time he invites people to witness activities for the progress of the town of Danao. One of these invitations was about the Variety Show held on December 29, 2023 at the Danao New Gymnasium where the Diwanag Dance Theatre and Cultural Troupe performed under the auspices of the Danao SK Federation. This show presented dance insights into Human Values and Spirits. Mayor Cepedoza reiterated the explanation of the word Diwanag which is the old Bisayan word for “inspiration” or insights. Among the widely-accomplished dance projects of Diwanag in the past years are the Blood Compact reenactment and Tago-Bilaan – a short dance-drama.
