LGU JAGNA DOLES OUT P4.5M TO ALL WORKERS

LGU JAGNA DOLES OUT P4.5M FOR ALL WORKERS.

Jagna Mayor Joseph A. Ranola MPA and its LGU dole out a total of more than P4,500,000 (P4.5M) cash and item incentives to all workers of the municipality from the elected, rank and file, down to the casual and job order workers during the December 23, 2023 year-end assessment and Christmas Party inside the new and airconditioned Cultural Center of the town.

These included the amount of P2,208,000 Service Recognition Incentive (SRI) of P20,000 each and an amount of P552,500 Productivity Enhancement Incentive (PEI) of P5,000 each for all the 113 appointive/elected employees (12), permanent (92), temporary (5) and Casual Plantilla (4) according to LGU Jagna HRMO Maria Maisie M. Sajulan, RN.

Sajulan further divulged that a total of P1,356,000 were given to all 255 Job Order workers and 17 Contract of Service workers at P5,000 each as Gratuity.

Aside from those mentioned above, a total of P445,000 representing 5KLs rice and food packs were given to all local employees including the national government agencies from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and TESDA and another P85,000 worth of raffle items were given on that day (December 23, 2023).

Senator Alan Peter Cayetano, thru Mayor Ranola, also handed a separate amount of P150,000 cash which was allocated for raffle of P1,000 each being won by 100 LGU workers and the other P50,000 for different cash rewards.

Two retirees also received Service Award Plaque, Bouquet and Grocery Packs while a deceased former LGU worker also received Memorial Service Recognition Plaque and Grocery Pack.

The above mentioned amount and items do not include the mandatory 13th month pay of the rank and file which was received prior to November 15, 2023.

For her part, Municipal Social Welfare Development Officer (MSWDO) Alma Acera, a department head, said that the additional incentives she received from LGU Jagna were used for gifting her husband and children and financing their vacation to Davao City to visit her parents which she failed to do so for the past 5 years.

“Para sa amoa, dako jud kaayo ug gamit ang nadawat nako. It was used by my family during our 2023 Christmas vacation in Davao, transpo fare and gifts for my children and husband. After almost 5 years nakabalik mi whole family sa Davao ug na surprise akong parents. If wala mi nagbakasyon sa Davao, it will be used unta sa project sa among balay sa Jagna nga wala pa nahuman busa Salamat jud”, Acera quipped.

For his part, Archie Ranoa, a husband and father to 4 children and an ordinary permanent (regular) employee receiving monthly salary of P11,000 per month, said that the additional incentives he received were used to pay his debts and tuition fees for their senior high school student.

“Daghang Salamat Mayor Ranola ug LGU Jagna ky nakabajad kos akong mga utang nga bugas ug grocery ug nakabajad mis tuition sa Colegio Dela Medalla Milagrosa (CMM) nga pila ka buwan najud wa mabayari”, Ranoa said.

Meanwhile, Van Aaron Galolo, a job order and a father of one kid, said that the P5,000 gratuity he received was used to pay debt and Christmas presents to his “mga anakon”.

“Salamat Mayor Joseph ug LGU Jagna ky ang akong nadawat dihas December 23 nga P5,000 nakabajad kos mga kautangan ug nakahatag sab kog pinaskuhan sa akong mga anakon”, Galolo said.

“It is but proper to reward everybody for the dedication and hard work towards the delivery of programs and projects to the more or less 40,000 Jagnaanons”, the mayor said.

When Ranola assumed office last 2019, he raised the salary of Job Order from P200 to P300 per day. He is set to raise it again if the budget warrants it. He also raised the salaries of the rank and file and will raise them on another round if the budget warrants.

The workaholic mayor, who already raked-in more than one billion pesos (P1B) of programs and projects from the national government budget for Jagna since he assumed office for his first term as mayor last June 2019, was able to raise the basic salaries of all employees in order to alleviate their daily house needs and encouraged everybody to stick to discipline and hardwork.

The rewards received by the workers do not come that easy as the mayor is seen to be hard in disciplining everybody in the municipal hall. In fact, he suspended and terminated former MPDO Engr. Jerry Araneta for allegedly tampering his Daily Time Record. Job order garnering more than 15 absences in a year will be terminated while 12 to 15 absences in a year warrants 1 month suspension and permanent workers doing the same will undergo disciplinary measures in line with the Civil Service rules.

“I hope everybody in the LGU will always render good services and strive for the best together with the people of Jagna”, Ranola added.(Ton-Ton Aniscal)
