Loboc wins 2023 SGLG award

The Local Government Unit of Loboc is one of the 493 local government units (LGUs) across the country, and the only awardee in Bohol, to have qualified the 2023 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) for complying with standards of efficient leadership and outstanding public service. This is the third SGLG award for Loboc and the first under the administration of Mayor Raymond G. Jala, Vice Mayor Helen C. Alaba and the 11th Sangguniang Bayan.

The Seal was conferred by no less than DILG Secretary Atty. Benjamin C. Abalos Jr on December 14, 2023 at Manila Hotel and received by Mayor Raymond G. Jala, Atty. Edgar L. Calacar, CPA, Municipal Accountant and at the same time SGLG Focal and Jocelyn B. Bandala, MLGOO. Also in attendance were DILG 7 Regional Director Leocadio T. Trovela, CESO III, OIC Assistant Regional Director and DILG Cebu Provincial Director Atty. Ian Kenneth B. Lucero, and DILG Bohol Provincial Director Jerome G. Gonzales.

The 2023 SGLG has upgraded performance standards now focusing on the outcome of LGUs efforts in addressing the current challenges in local administration and public service delivery where a local government must pass TEN governance areas; namely (1) Financial Administration and Sustainability (2) Disaster Preparedness (3) Social Protection and Sensitivity (4) Health Compliance and Responsiveness (5) Sustainable Education (6) Business Friendliness and Competitiveness (7) Safety, Peace and Order (8) Environmental Management (9) Tourism, Heritage Development, Culture and Arts, and (10) Youth Development.

Loboc will receivePhp1,800,000.00 as SGLG incentive and LGU employees are eligible to receive the 2023 Performance Based Bonus this year.

Mayor Jala would like to thank all LGU employees, national government agencies, CSOs, SGLG Technical Working Group headed by Atty. Edgar L. Calacar, CPA and other stakeholders for helping Loboc achieve this feat of excellence. He stresses the importance of maintaining a harmonious relationship with the Sangguniang Bayan as well as the contribution of former mayor Leon A. Calipusan and First Consolidated Bank Foundation Chairman Argeo J. Melisimo who has steered Loboc to a direction of distinction and excellence for Loboc is a piece of heaven on earth.
