In a celebration filled with joy, kindness, and gift-giving, Mayor Jane Yap of Tagbilaran City marked her special day with a series of meaningful activities.
The day commenced with a heartwarming initiative at the former City Dumpsite in Dampas, where Mayor Yap led the feeding of children.
The activity underscores the importance of community care especially for those in vulnerable situations.
Following this, Mayor Yap led the distribution of free school uniforms for public elementary school students in Cabawan Elementary School and turnover of Science Reading Associate (SRA) Laboratory learning materials to the Department of Education City Schools Division headed by Dr. Wilfreda Bongalos. This initiative aims to ensure that students have access to essential educational resources thus, fostering a conducive learning environment.
Mayor Yap also extended her generosity to the beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) by distributing gift packs. This thoughtful gesture aimed to brighten the day of families who are part of the program, further emphasizing the commitment to uplift the well-being of every citizen in Tagbilaran City.
Furthermore, there was the turnover of a multicab to Barangay Poblacion 1. Barangay Captain Ma. Luz Quiobe and members of the Sangguniang Barangay received the vehicle which will help enhance local mobility and contribute to the barangay’s overall development.
The day’s activities culminated in a short program held at the City Hall atrium, attended by city officials, department heads and dedicated city employees. The event featured video presentations with heartfelt greetings from government officials and family members, reflecting the widespread appreciation for Mayor Yap’s leadership and dedication.
The program transitioned seamlessly into a joyous salo-salo, symbolizing unity and camaraderie among the city’s leaders and employees.
