BOHOL HOSTS IBP EASTERN VISAYAS REGIONAL PLANNING AND IBP-BOHOL TO HOLD ITS FIRST LEGAL AID OUTREACH FOR 2024
The beautiful province of Bohol played host to the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (“IBP”) National Committee for Legal Aid (“NCLA”) Regional Planning for Eastern Visayas held last Friday, January 12, 2024, at Bluewater Panglao Beach Resort in Brgy. Danao, Panglao, Bohol. The meeting gave the Chapters within the IBP Eastern Visayas Region the opportunity to report their Legal Aid initiatives as well as planned legal aid activities for this year.
The event was graced by no less than IBP National President, Atty. Antonio C. Pido, who delivered the opening remarks. Atty. Carmelita Y. Sison, Assistant National Treasurer, discussed IBP National Finance Updates and Liquidation Rules. After which, the Planning Session of IBP Eastern Visayas Chapters followed focusing on the upcoming IBP Regional Convention in Bohol. The body also planned upcoming regional legal aid activities facilitated by NCLA Deputy Director for Eastern Visayas, Atty. Hasmin Cristy Avila-Bibar. IBP Eastern Visayas Governor, Atty. Marlo V. Destura, delivered the closing remarks.
IBP-Bohol Chapter was represented by yours truly and Vice President and Chairperson of the Legal Aid Committee, Atty. John Jeric Lim, during the event.

IBP-Bohol Chapter, in partnership with the Municipal Local Government Unit of Corella, Bohol, led by its Mayor, Hon. Juan Manuel “Manju” Lim, will hold its 1st Legal Aid Outreach for 2024 on January 27, 2024 (Saturday) from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Corella Municipal Hall Atrium.
The following services are covered by the Legal Aid Outreach: 1) Drafting and Notarization of Simple Affidavits of the following, a) Affidavit of Loss, b) Affidavit of Two Disinterested Persons, c) Affidavit of Legitimation, d) Affidavit of Paternity and Recognition, e) Affidavit of Cohabitation, f) Demand Letter for Support, and Other kinds of affidavits; and 2) Consultation of the Fields of Criminal and Civil Law (but no Case Handling), such as but not limited to: a) VAWC, Abandonment, Support, and Abuses, b) Succession and Partition, c) Errors in Birth Certificate and other public documents, d) Land Dispute/Ejectment, e) Adoption, and f) Possible violations of Criminal Law and Civil Law.
