The LGU Danao Facebook page has posted the information that on JAN. 5, 2024, the town received the 2023 Gawad KALASAG Seal of Excellence Award as its Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council became fully compliant with all the needed requirements and standards garnering a rating of 1.72 in the 23rd Gawad KALASAG Seal for Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils and Officers (LDRRMCOs) Category for Cy 2023. The Municipality of Danao was found to be generally adherent to the standards for the establishments and functionality of the LDRRMCOs as prescribed in the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Republic Act No. 10121.The award was received by the Danao LDRRMC Chairman Mayor Jose Cepedoza (in photo, center) and MDRRMO Head Mr. Beriel Torregosa.
