Alturas, ICM confident to face SM entry in Bohol

The Alturas Group of Companies (AGC), a leading retail company in Bohol, is not afraid of the competition from SM Supermall, which is set to open in Tagbilaran City in 2027.

Ariel Fullido, the spokesperson for AGC, said that they have their own edge over SM, which is their Boholano identity and quality products.

“We are in a free enterprise. If you make a business, you anticipate [the competition]. We at Alturas Group, there is nothing to worry [about], it’s free for all. Our advantage is that our products are from [Bohol],” he said in an interview with Newsmakers ug Uban Pa on January 23, 2024.

Fullido said that AGC, which operates Colonnade Supermarket in Cebu City and Mandaue, has been serving the Cebuanos with the same prices and freshness as their malls in Bohol.

He said that Colonnade Supermarket is a Boholano brand that showcases the Boholano values of cheerfulness, accommodation, and friendship.

He also said that AGC has been participating in the Sinulog Festival by conducting outreach programs in some barangays in Cebu, such as medical missions and children’s parties.

Fullido added that AGC has a strong partnership with other corporations based in Cebu, as well as with the provincial and city governments of Bohol.

He assured that AGC will continue to provide quality services and products to its customers, as well as social responsibility programs to the communities.

The AGC is the operator of Alturas Mall, Alta Citta, Plaza Marcela, and Island City Mall. It also has controlling stakes in various other business ventures such as quick-service restaurants, hotels, and farms.
