IBP-BOHOL TO HOST HONORING NIGHT 2024 AND ORIENTATION OF NEW LAWYERS
The 26th Board of Officers and Directors of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines-Bohol Chapter will hold its Honoring Night 2024 on March 1, 2024 (Friday) at 6:30 p.m. With a theme “The Boholano Lawyer for Others: Charting the Next 50 Years of IBP-Bohol Chapter Towards Genuine and Meaningful Service to the Community”, the Chapter will honor the newly minted lawyers who passed the 2023 Hernando Bar Examinations and will pay tribute to those who recently retired from the Bench, namely: Hon. Jorge D. Cabalit (Ret.), former Presiding Judge of the Regional Trial Court of Tagbilaran City, Branch 48; Hon. Sisinio C. Virtudazo (Ret.), former Presiding Judge of the Regional Trial Court of Tagbilaran City, Branch 4; and Hon. Leo M. Lison (Ret.), former Executive Judge and Presiding Judge of the Regional Trial Court of Tagbilaran City, Branch 3. The Guest of Honor and Keynote Speaker is Hon. Maria Filomena D. Singh, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court.
During the event, special recognition will be given to the Chapter’s partners in its Legal Assistance for Effective Law Enforcement Program (LAELEP), namely: the Provincial Government of Bohol led by Provincial Governor Erico Aristotle C. Aumentado and Bohol Provincial Police Office led by Police Colonel Lorenzo A. Batuan. Partners of the Chapter in its Legal Aid Program shall also be feted, namely: Holy Name University College of Law led by Dean Marivic T. Daray and Municipal Local Government Unit of San Miguel led by its Municipal Mayor, Hon. Ian Gil Mendez, for the Legal Aid Outreach in San Miguel, Bohol last April 29, 2023; University of Bohol College of Law led by Dean Gregorio B. Austral and the Municipal Local Government Unit of Inabanga led by its Municipal Mayor, Hon. Jose Jono C. Jumamoy, for the Legal Aid Outreach in Inabanga, Bohol last June 10, 2023; Bohol Institute of Technology College of Law led by Assistant Dean Glenn Rey D. Anino, Municipal Local Government Unit of Sierra Bullones led by its Municipal Mayor, Hon. Michael I. Doria, and Lagang Solis and Arbitrario Law Offices led by its Managing Partner, Atty. Teodoro M. Lagang, for the Legal Aid Outreach in Sierra Bullones, Bohol last August 26, 2023; Public Attorney’s Office – Talibon District led by its District Head, Atty. Vanessa Niemes-Diano, Santa Cruz Parish of Catungawan Sur, Guindulman, Bohol led by its Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. John Ricarte Cristal, for the Legal Aid Outreach in Santa Cruz Parish, Catungawan Sur, Guindulman, Bohol last September 24, 2024; and Municipal Local Government Unit of Corella led by its Municipal Mayor, Hon. Office of the First Congressional District led by Hon. Edgar M. Chatto, Office of the Second Congressional District led by Hon. Vanessa C. Aumentado, Office of the Third Congressional District led by Hon. Kristine Alexei Besas-Tutor and City Local Government Unit of Tagbilaran City led by Hon. Jane Censoria Cajes-Yap will also be recognized for its major sponsorship during the Run-at-Law: Fun Run for Legal Aid last November 12, 2023.
After the Honoring Night, the newly minted lawyers will undergo an Orientation of New Lawyers on March 16, 2024 (Saturday) from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Topaz Aquamarine Hall, 2nd Floor, MetroCentre Hotel and Convention Center, Tagbilaran City.
