Bohol Water, South Balibago join forces for best water service

By VICTOR L. TAMBIS

Two water companies in Bohol have agreed to work together to provide better water service to their customers.

Bohol Water Utilities, Inc. (BWUI) and South Balibago Water Resources, Inc.

(SBWRI) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on January 31, 2024, to formalize their cooperation.

BWUI is a public utility that serves the areas of Tagbilaran City, parts of Baclayon, Dauis, and Corella.

SBWRI is a private company that operates in the areas of Dauis and Panglao.

The two companies have a common goal of delivering the right amount of water to consumers, especially during the peak season of tourism in Bohol.

According to the MOA, the two companies will support each other in terms of water supply, distribution, quality, and management.

They will also share best practices, technical expertise, and resources to improve their operations and customer service.

The MOA considers the partnership as a win-win situation for both parties and not a competition.

The main purpose of the collaboration is to ensure a reliable and sustainable water supply for the consumers of both companies, in line with the national government’s priority of improving potable water supply in the countryside.

The two companies also hope to contribute to the development of Bohol as a prime tourist destination in the country.

BWUI General Manager Marnellie Bautista and SBWRI Branch Manager Wencelito H. Bantol expressed their optimism and commitment to the partnership.

They said that they are looking forward to working together to serve the water needs of the people of Bohol.

The signing of the MOA was witnessed by representatives from both companies, including Clement George Chiu, Christine Ranay, Alvin Bigcas, and Nickgel Balasabas.

The event was also attended by local officials and media personnel.
