A celebration of love unfolded as 168 couples embarked on a journey of matrimony during the “Libreng Kasalan sa Tagbilaran” at the Saulog Gym.
Held on February 13-14, 2024, the civil wedding ceremony unfolded in three batches, ensuring a seamless and memorable experience for each couple and their guests.
As part of its commitment to supporting the couples, the City Government of Tagbilaran provided a comprehensive package of wedding essentials to make their special day truly extraordinary.
All couples received a generous array of services and items, including free bridal gowns with veils, barongs and slacks for the grooms, wedding ring, professional hair and makeup services, bridal bouquets, corsages, enchanting wedding decorations, talented wedding performers, photo and video coverage, a vibrant LED wall, state-of-the-art sound systems, and a delectable buffet spread for family members and witnesses.
Mayor Jane Yap expressed her heartfelt wishes for the newlyweds, stating, “I wish you all a fruitful and happy married life. The City Government of Tagbilaran is committed to continuing this program, legally binding couples and providing them with the support they need for a strong and enduring union.”
The generosity extended even further, with couples receiving additional tokens such as rice cookers, rice packs, wedding cakes and wine. The initiative aims not only to facilitate legal marriages but also to uplift the overall experience for the couples, making their wedding day a cherished and memorable occasion.
Mayor Yap was joined by Chief of Staff John Geesnell “Baba” Yap and Vice Mayor Adam Jala, who graciously served as godparents to the couples, adding a touch of communal support to the festivities.
The “Libreng Kasalan sa Tagbilaran” mass wedding is a testament to the city’s dedication to fostering family values and creating a supportive environment for couples as they embark on their marital journey. The success of the event reflects the city’s commitment to building a strong and connected community through the celebration of love.
