TROUBLE AT KING’S LANDING
“All the King’s men and all the King’s horses couldn’t put Humpty Dumpty back together again.”
Many empires fell, caused by infighting amongst the King’s trusted men which led to an uprising that unseated the throne.
The corridors of power are often described as a snake’s pit where sycophants and bootlickers abound to outdo each other. Stabbing one another in the back seems a normal routine among those protecting their own interests.
When a leader is weak, followers go awry and start doing things on their own. But when he is in on the shenanigans his people do, he loses the ascendancy to control them and hell breaks loose.
The recent events unfolding that point an ugly finger at the Capitol seem to indicate the trouble brewing over the horizon.
Its occupants riding the public sentiment for anti-corruption and transparency, painted themselves clean and beyond reproach. But the bitter reality that played out shatters this myth created by clever propaganda.
When erstwhile allies and supporters turn against their principal what could be wrong? Revelations and accusations made by people independent of each other that show the true nature of the ruling powers cannot just be lightly dismissed.
Now that things have come out in the open exposed by a “whistleblower/s” privy to the issues raised, we should start seeing it seriously and with scrutiny. A leader cannot just be popular and rely on it to cover his inadequacies as people want to see much more.
In these trying times, the public demands concrete proof of accomplishments and programs that would benefit their lives.We cannot live on mere words alone but we need to eat fish, meat , poultry and others to survive.
But the spiraling cost of food makes it even more difficult. Everything that happens around us reflect the kind of governance and management we are subjected to.
Yet how are things thus far? Have our leaders lived up to expectations or they dismally failed to meet them?
You cannot look good simply by painting others bad. Isn’t this essentially what the newly created office, OGAR declared unconstitutional by the Court, all about?
There is more than meets the eye to what is happening at the Capitol as exposed. It would be very interesting to watch how things turn out in the days and weeks ahead.
Just now, rumors have it that key players in this controversy are getting jittery and having goosebumps already.
