SAN MIGUEL, Bohol – The town of

with a mass and parade on March 8,
followed by a women’s day program
with a dance contest in the evening.

On March 9, the town hosted a mass
wedding ceremony for 63 couples,

dubbed as “Kasalan ng Bayan”
(Town Wedding). The same day also
marked the farmer’s day, where
local farmers showcased their
products and participated in various
games and contests.

The town also opened its display
booths for agriproducts, which will
run until March 14. The booths
feature the town’s best crops,
livestock, and handicrafts.

Sports enthusiasts can also enjoy
various games and tournaments
throughout the week, such as
basketball, volleyball, chess, and
badminton.

The Rural Improvement Club (RIC)
also organized a food fair, where

local delicacies and dishes are sold at
affordable prices.

On March 11, the town will hold a
barangay official congress, where
the local leaders discuss the issues
and concerns of their respective
communities.

The town will also host a live band
and disco night, where residents
and visitors will enjoy the music and
dancing.

On March 12, the town will conduct a
gender and development (GAD)
seminar for career support, where
participants learn about the
opportunities and challenges of
working in different fields.

On March 13, the town will stage a
comedy show, called “Sumbagay
sa San Miguel” (Punchline in San
Miguel), where local comedians
entertain the audience with their jokes
and skits.

The culmination of the celebration
will be on March 14, where the town
will witness a drum and lyre
showdown among the different
schools in the area.

The highlight of the night will be the
performances of Cebu’s primetime
artist and the Sex Bomb Dancers,
two of the most popular acts in the
country.

San Miguel Mayor Ian Gil Mendez
(in photo) said that the celebration
is a way of honoring the town’s
cultural history, tradition, and
sustainable economy.

He is thanking the residents and
visitors for their support and
participation in the various activities.
