A resort built near the Chocolate Hills in Bohol has sparked controversy for violating environmental regulations.  The resort, Captain’s Peak, was constructed without an Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC) from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). It may also be violating other regulations regarding water discharge and hazardous waste. The construction has angered many due to the potential damage it could cause to the Chocolate Hills, a protected landscape and UNESCO Global Geopark. (Contributed photo)
