A resort built near the Chocolate Hills in Bohol has sparked controversy for violating environmental regulations. The resort, Captain’s Peak, was constructed without an Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC) from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). It may also be violating other regulations regarding water discharge and hazardous waste.
