Town News-JAGNA

On March 7, 2024, Jagna Mayor Joseph Rañola (extreme left) convened the Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) from all 33 barangays of the town at the Goyo Hall, Municipal Building. The purpose of the meeting was to acknowledge and appreciate the hard work and dedication of these scholars in promoting nutrition within their communities. Mayor Rañola warmly greeted the BNS and encouraged them to introduce themselves, sharing insights into their length of service. He expressed his gratitude to them for their unwavering commitment despite the modest honorarium they receive quarterly. Recognizing the challenges they face, Mayor Rañola commended their dedication to the cause of enhancing nutritional awareness and practices among the residents. During the meeting, Mayor Rañola assured the BNS of the full support from the Local Government Unit (LGU), emphasizing the vital role they play in the overall well-being of the community. He pledged to work with them towards improving their working conditions and ensuring they have the resources needed to carry out their responsibilities effectively. As a tangible gesture of appreciation, each BNS received ₱4,500 as an honorarium for their outstanding efforts during the first quarter, distributed by Special Disbursing Officer Jorge Madrona. This recognition serves as a testament to the LGU’s commitment to valuing and rewarding the hard work of those who contribute to the betterment of Jagna. The meeting not only highlighted the Mayor’s appreciation for the BNS but also emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts between the LGU and community stakeholders to enhance the overall health and well-being of the citizens.
