“Bob Marley: One Love” at Screenville

A biographical drama about reggae legend Bob Marley from his rise to fame in the mid-70s up until his death in 1981, “Bob Marley: One Love” is still showing at ICM Screenville Cinema 4.

A global figure in popular culture and one of the best-selling artists of all time, Marley had inspired generations through his message of love and unity. In 1984, his greatest hits album “Legend” was released becoming the best-selling reggae album of all time, with estimated sales of more than 75 million records worldwide.

From 1976 through 1978, Marley was already a formidable political voice in Jamaica. Just a few days before his planned unity concert aimed to stop the violence inflicted by two warring political leaders, he was shot by assassins believed to be politically motivated, forcing him to leave the country as his life is persistently in danger.

Bob and his backing band the Wailers opt for London where they begin recording songs. His wife Rita and the family go to US to live with his mother.

King Kong fights intruders in his sacred homeland. Decades later, Kong and Godzilla would come face to face in “Godzilla vs. Kong.”

While they started out as rival enemies, the two eventually team up three years later forming an alliance to take on a new threat and save mankind.
