INTEGRATED BAR OF THE PHILIPPINES-BOHOL CHAPTER
TO HOST EASTERN VISAYAS REGIONAL CONVENTION
After fifteen (15) years, Integrated Bar of the Philippines (“IBP”) – Bohol Chapter will host again the biennial gathering of lawyers in the IBP Eastern Visayas Region (composed of Cebu, Bohol, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Samar, Eastern Samar, Northern Samar and Biliran). The 2024 IBP Eastern Visayas Regional Convention will be held on 13-14 June 2024 at Doljo Ballroom, Modala Resort, Panglao Bohol.
With a theme “One Region, One Vision: Elevating the Legal Profession in the Eastern Visayas Region by Adapting to Legal Trends and Judicial Innovations”, the regional convention will assemble a formidable line-up of lecturers/speakers discussing timely and relevant topics. The lectures will be credited as Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) credit units across required subjects, namely: 1) Updates in Substantive and Procedural Laws and Jurisprudence; 2) International Law and International Conventions; 3) Legal Ethics; 4) Legal Writing and Oral Advocacy; 5) Trial and Pre-Trial Skills; and 6) MCLE-Prescribed Subject.
IBP-Bohol Chapter has extended an invitation to Hon. Alexander G. Gesmundo to be the Guest of Honor and Keynote Speaker to share his vision laid down in the Supreme Court’s Strategic Plan for Judicial Innovations 2022-2027 or SPJI. The SPJI’s has four (4) guiding principles towards delivery of justice which should be (1) timely and fair; (2) transparent and accountable; (3) equal and inclusive; and (4) technology adaptive.
The Regional Convention will also feature a one-day Sports Festival among the Chapters playing goodwill games in the following sports: 1) Basketball; 2) Tennis Doubles; and 3) Mixed Beach Volleyball. There will also be Mr. and Ms. IBP Eastern Visayas with winning candidates representing the IBP Eastern Visayas during the 20th National Convention of Lawyers on January 30-31 and February 1, 2024, in Cebu City. The registration for the event is expected to open on the 2nd week of April.
