Cong. Edgar Chatto (seated, 2nd from left) welcomes newly appointed health undersecretary Ike Bravo (seated, at right) during the latter’s visit to Bohol with his family recently. Chatto hosted a lunch meeting for the guests to discuss priority health projects including the expansion of the Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Medical Center in Tagbilaran and the establishment of the Governor Celestino Gallares Multi Specialty Medical Complex in Cortes. Chatto authored Republic Act 11883 establishing Gallares Cortes to address the pressing need of quality, accessible & affordable specialized health care. Bravo said that such is a trailblazing facility ahead of the planned Regional Specialty Centers under Republic Act 11959. Once completed, patients need not go to the Philippine Heart Center, National Kidney Center, Philippine Lung Center. Beneficiaries of the TUPAD Program are shown receiving their wages during a payout in Loon on April 12. This is the latest run of the program implemented by the Department of Labor and Employment in coordination with the office of Cong. Edgar Chatto. Simultaneous payouts were held in Loon, Tubigon, Catigbian, Balilihan, Sikatuna, Corella and Tagbilaran City. In this program, beneficiaries receive a daily wage of P468 for 10 days of community work set by the Local Government Units. The program assists underemployed or displaced workers. Contributed photo
