Saulog Street Dancing, Parade and Ritual Showdown all set

On May 1, 2024, the vibrant streets of Tagbilaran will come alive with the rhythmic beats and colorful displays of the grand street dancing competition and ritual showdown organized by the City Government of Tagbilaran in partnership with its co-presentors and sponsors in celebration of the feast day of Señor San Jose.

Excitement fills the air as Tagbilaranons, tourists and visitors eagerly anticipate the highly awaited event, featuring 15 vibrant contingents representing various barangays of Tagbilaran City.

In a statement, City Mayor Jane Yap expressed her enthusiasm for the event, highlighting its significance in showcasing the rich cultural heritage and community spirit of Tagbilaran.

She emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting traditional culture, which serves as a source of pride for the city and its residents.

The 2023 street dancing champion, barangay Tiptip, is ready to defend its title against ready competitors.

With a dazzling showcase of talent and cultural heritage, each contingent will vie for top honors in the street dancing competition, promising a spectacle of music, dance, and tradition.

Along CPG Avenue, two designated dancing stations will serve as platforms for contingents to showcase their performances in front of judges and spectators.

After captivating the audience with their energetic displays, the contingents will then proceed to the CPG Sports Complex for the highly anticipated ritual showdown.

Adding to the excitement, the Mutya sa Tagbilaran 2024 winners and her court will grace the parade alongside Mutya representatives from various barangays.

Furthermore, Saulog sponsors will be actively participating in the parade, contributing to the vibrant atmosphere with floats and walking displays.

Prior to the Saulog Street Dancing on May 1, 2024, upcoming events include the Saulog Fluvial Procession and Himo’g Huni Original Songwriting Competition on April 19, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. The parade will begin from the Tagbilaran City Fish Port at Sitio Ubos, Barangay Poblacion 1, proceeding to Dauis, returning to the Causeway area turning at the “Parola”, and concluding back at Sitio Ubos.

While the Himo’g Huni contest will be held at the Island City Mall Activity Center.
