Town News-BUENAVISTA

Buenavista Mayor Dave Duallo (3rd from left) presents SMART Municipality. He said: “Yes, this is our aim as we partner with the Dept. of Science and Technology (DOST) in the implementation of its Innovation, Science and Technology for Accelerating Regional Technology Based Development (iSTART) Program in Buenavista. Buenavista is one of the eight pioneering Municipalities that entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the DOST during the Opening Ceremonies of the 2024 Central Visayas Regional Science Technology and Innovation Week in Tagbilaran City on April 17, 2024 attended by DOST Sec. Renato Solidum, Jr. Among the programs offered by the DOST that caught the interest of Buenavista is the rollout of STARBOOKS, a digitalized library with a wealth of educational resources that can be used even with no internet connection. This will be a big help to our local schools in far flung areas with no wifi signal. Thank you DOST for the opportunity and we are excited on the programs and projects you can offer to our Municipality.” Contributed photo
