Tagbilaran City Mayor Jane Cajes-Yap has maintained her performance rating at a net +79% in the latest Bohol Poll survey.
This rating, identical to last year’s April-May 2023 survey conducted by the Holy Name University (HNU) Center for Research and Publications, is considered “excellent.”
The results of the Bohol Poll 2024 survey were presented to the public on Friday, May 3, at the Holy Name University media center in Tagbilaran City.
The survey, which covered the period from March 23 to April 22, 2024, had a total sample size of 400 adult respondents from across the province.
Each district was allocated 100 respondents, and Tagbilaran City, which is part of District 1, was also allocated a separate sample of 100 respondents.
The margin of error for Bohol is +/-5%, for Tagbilaran City, District 2, and District 3 it is +/- 10, while for District 1 it is +/-7.
According to the survey conducted from March 23 to April 23, 2024, a great majority (85%) of the respondents were satisfied with Mayor Yap’s performance, while a few (6%) expressed dissatisfaction, resulting in a net satisfaction rating of +79. The undecided respondents accounted for +35.
Mayor Jane Yap received the highest rating of +90 among respondents aged 25-34 years old and +82 among those in Class D of the economic classes.
Vice-Mayor Adam Relson Jala’s performance rating climbed to a net +65%, up from +61% in last year’s opinion survey.
The 100 city respondents gave the vice-mayor a 100% rating from the 18-24 years old age group and 56%, his lowest, from the 45 and above age group.
Mayor Yap posted a heartfelt appreciation, thanking the Center for Research and Publications that conducted the Bohol Poll of the Holy Name University.
“I am taking a moment to express my deepest gratitude for the recent Bohol Poll survey results. Your diligent efforts in conducting comprehensive research have provided invaluable insights into the sentiments of our beloved city.
“As the first woman and youngest City Mayor of Tagbilaran, receiving an excellent satisfaction rating is not just a personal honor, but a testament to the collective spirit and hard work of our city administration and the trust and engagement of our citizens. This accolade fuels our commitment to serve with even greater dedication and to strive for the betterment of our community,” the Mayor said.
“Your work empowers leaders by providing a mirror of public opinion, guiding us to be more responsive and aligned with the needs and aspirations of the people we serve. I am thankful for your role in strengthening the fabric of our democratic society through such impactful research,” she stressed.
Mayor Yap added: “To the people of Tagbilaran, my heartfelt thanks for your continued faith in our leadership. This recognition belongs to each of you as much as it does to the Yap-Jala administration. Your voice, through platforms like the Bohol Poll, shapes our path forward, and together, we will continue to build a Tagbilaran that shines as a beacon of progress and prosperity. Here’s to more milestones achieved and a future crafted through unity, trust, and relentless effort.”
